An Ode To Thanksgiving

My favorite holiday of all
comes in the late fall
it involves football
and pie

A day like no other;
kitchens all smother
with cooking mothers
and I

The turkey is basted
nothing is wasted
gravy is tasted
time flies

Potatoes are mashed
rolls are passed
Lions are thrashed
(nice try)

Yes, it's Thanksgiving
glad to be living
waistband is giving-
big sigh.

I have to say, I've become confused on the number of people who actually read my blog since comment rate has slowly declined into nothing-ness. So I thought I'd start commenting on yours more often. Just so you can be sure I'm reading it! I really like your ode. It's too bad that my thanksgiving lacked much of what was said in that ode. But I better be included in next years' ode, cause Lord knows we will be together for much of it. =]
